Notice for Annual Meeting 2025

The Annual Meeting of the Pioneer Congregational Church will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025 following Sunday worship in the Fellowship Hall. We will meet to vote on the 2025 annual budget, elect new officers, and vote on new business brought up from the floor. Sermon Recommendations Survey

The Worship Committee and the Pastor have created this online survey to help in sermon preparation.

https://forms.gle/gP9kE376AkU157Le8

The purpose of the survey is to ensure that sermon preparation and delivery is relevant and inspiring. Sermons should address people's life issues and questions about the faith. To aid in this endeavor, a survey has been created both online and as a printed form available at the church. You are invited to fill out the survey in either format. You do not need to be a member of the church to fill this out, although you do need to be a regular attender in person or online. If you have any questions, please speak with the Worship Committee or the Pastor. Thanks!

Tour of the Sanctuary

Dr. Elliot Jones, our music director, leads a tour of the sanctuary that includes the building architecture, explaining the history of the various stained glass windows, and offers a history of our organ and plays on it to show it's capabilities. The next Tour happens on Saturday, February 8 at 12:00 Noon. Invite your friends to this lovely tour as it is a great way to introduce them to our historic building and church.

Prayer Ministry

We have a vibrant prayer ministry in our church. Heidi Munoz collects prayer requests, emails them out to our prayer champions, and we pray over all prayer requests each and every Sunday. If you have a prayer request, please send an email to Heidi at prayingpioneers@gmail.com.

We help prepare you for leadership by serving on various committees and boards of the church. We have open positions in ministry, planning, outreach, and Christian education. If you are interested in honing your leadership skills, or developing them, please speak with the Pastor.

Leadership Development

Choir Rehearsal

The Pioneer Choir presents music of a great variety of styles – Gregorian chant, Renaissance polyphony, traditional spirituals, brand-new choral anthems, and more. Rehearsals are at 6:30 on Thursdays in our choir room. New singers are welcome anytime. Music-reading skills are helpful, but not required.

Bell Choir Rehearsal

Pioneer Bells rehearses on Tuesdays at 6:30 in our choir room, and presents some of the rich repertoire of music for bell choir in worship services – and occasionally in front of the church, serenading Sutter’s Fort Park!

Thank You!

A special thank you goes to Tim and Don for the new Christian wreath on the Bell Tower, displayed during the Christmas season and everyone who helped undecorate the sanctuary and church. We also Randy for assembling this week's unhoused meal sack lunches. Thank you!

Mission Statement

Connecting people with God’s love. Sharing a safe place to belong. Serving our community and beyond.

AA Recovery Support

AA currently meets throughout the week in our church. They meet every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM in Fellowship Hall or the Parlor.

Compassion Fund

Once a month, we collect an offering on Sunday that supports our local mission efforts. We provide the unhoused sack lunches, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, and hand-warmers. We also offer no-interest loans to church members and friends and family of church members.
